That’s one way to try and win a vote…
We are back!
And just like that; Foolish Lego is back!
Sorry to have kept you all waiting. Thomas, my son, is still in the hospital and I’m happy to say he is doing really well. He still needs to grow a bit more besides trying not to forget to breath (!) and finally learn to drink for himself. All normal things to learn at that age I might add! Going in and out of the hospital is time-consuming though, so our family-life seems to have moved into the hospital, especially since I work there too!
That means episodes might not post timely the next couple of weeks, but I’ll try. Being in the hospital makes shooting the comics difficult. However, I DID use part of the time to update the site though; so not all is lost 🙂
I really like the new design. I have to admit I got confused a bit at first, but now I see all the improvements. I like the big panels, and the “Select chapter” and “Jump to” button. I feel like I have a remote and can move easily through the website in a minimum of click. That’s a great feeling!
Navigation was one of the things I really disliked on my old site(s), so it was important to me to improve. Good to read that you noticed!
What confused you at first? Maybe it’s something that can be improved.
I love the left section but I kinda feel like “Comic” and “Legography” could/should give more credit to the content behind it. People new to the website should run in this sections as soon as they see the links and I’m not sure I get this feeling here.
I’m sure you want to give the “About”section more love, but I’m not sure I’d have put it so high on the list.
(Oh I just noticed I can scroll down the homepage ! Didn’t notice at first LOL)
Homepage IMO shouldn’t be just about a comic sample… The Dwaas image is absolutely great and I almost feel it should be just this background and the left column, then the scroll down.
I really love the colors of this new version. It’s so punchy, so classy. It really matches the atmosphere of this world you created.
Overall it’s an amazing update, the little things I feel are too personal to be changed IMO, but I guess someone new to the site should get a little more help on where to go first on the site.
Thanks for the extensive review! I’ll keep your suggestions in mind. I agree that some are a matter of taste. One thing I changed is the order of the menu, a little less love for ‘about’ 😉
I wrote some thoughts I had designing the site down in a blogpost btw.
Comic and Legography are right where they should be! Woot!
