You are spot on with your comments, actually I was thinking about sound effects this (actually the next) episode but decided against them because I felt it made the panels even more crowded than they already are. Definitely something to keep in mind for future episodes though.
I’m also having hard times often to put those sounds without them hiding the image… very challenging indeed. But Comic Life makes it a bit easier.
