2-117 The homeless
The mayor of ALL citizens… well… sort of…
Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Today was a good day!
As you might know my all time favorite book is “Shadow of the wind” written by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. A magical book about a bookshop, an aspiring writer (Daniel Sempere), the cemetery of forgotten books and a mysterious book… and its writer.
It’s a beautiful story, captivating from the first few sentences. Last week the Dutch version of the fourth sequel was released and today Carlos Ruiz Zafon was in Maastricht for a greet and meet/ book signing. It was such a great moment and he seems to be a really nice guy… I was almost starstruck haha. Can’t wait to start reading again.
I might have asked this before, but what is your absolute favorite book, the one that got you thinking? The one that you can read again and again and still captivates you after a few reads?
I’m not a big reader. Well let’s say I’m no reader at all.
But there is a 10 book series I read 3 times already. Nine Princes in Amber from Zelazny. Fantasy story. I love the universe and the intrigue.
I recently started reading Sun Tzu’s Art of War. And I’d love to find a good french translation about the 3 Kingdoms (mostly because I love a movie inspired from this story… To any China history lovers, or any great movie lover, the long version of Red Cliff by John Woo… Holly catfish… you can’t die without having seeing it at least 1!!)
It’s great to have books you can re-read and re-read. To get back to the world and characters you love to be close to.
