How long to keep the lego stages before taking them down?
My back alley set is one of my favourite stages. It’s a relatively small MOC, yet very versatile. This may sound strange, but I don’t enjoy building the stages…. Yeah, I know. It takes too much time and I’m always wondering how long I need to keep the stages. You never know when (and if) I will need a stage again in the future. If I keep the stage, I “loose” the bricks used for the stage, and if I break it down, I might regret it in the future.
Maybe I just need to stop thinking so much…
That’s gotta be LDD biggest asset… Builds don’t need to get destroyed to have bricks! LOL
I love building, I just wish my imagination/building technics were better. Seems like creating a story is easier than having to create cool sets most of the time…
Anyway, I’m loving the shadows and lights of this episode, though it might be just a bit too dark (just a bit ,huh…)
It’s a shame LDD is not a bit more user-friendly (in my opinion).
The amount of darkness was the subject of internal discussion, so well spotted (again) 🙂
I am short on storage space, so I build bigger sets. Haha, let me explain. All my sets are self-contained and complete (i.e. “four walls” and furnished), and they are built to serve most of their time as permanent models and a “conversation piece” decoration for my living room. It’s never a question of “how long” to keep them 😉
Here’s what Ballinabricky looks like now. I have two more shelves planned (the two directly in the middle) — one will be a gigantic museum that takes the entire shelf and will be the largest building in town (3700+ bricks), and the other will be a dance hall above three store fronts modeled after the building across the street in Edward Hopper’s painting “Nighthawks.”

As I said before, I love Ballinabricky!Feels like coming home each time I read your comic.
