1) Kemi needs to be a little less transparent in future appearances (I almost missed him in there until the last panel, my mind having transmuted “you” to “I” automatically in panel 3)
2) When my parents bought their first house in the 1970s in Central New Jersey, the one they got was very old. There was a photo hanging in the house of when it had been moved up the river from a prior location in 1909. The structure was placed on a barge and was pulled by chains and teams of horses on either bank. One of the strangest things was the deed, which had to be changed to allow them to move in. The deed, which was the original, openly stated that the owner was not allowed to keep pigs and that there were “no Irish, Italians, or Negroes” permitted to live in the house (unless he was the gardener and lived in an outbuilding or separate structure on the property). Since my mom is Irish and my dad is Italian, such a clause would have been problematic. In reality, it was good for a laugh at the signing, but the real estate agents (or lawyers?) were able to just cross it out as the clause was, by then, illegal. Interesting relic of a bygone time, though…
Funny how the mind works and even unconsciously tries to make sense of the world around us…
Haha, that is a great story on that deed! You’re always full of original stories 🙂
These old laws sometimes really crack me up… until I remember that one day they were very real!
Considering he finds the deed pretty easily (well that’s what happens when things are stored properly LOL), I’m sure this won’t be enough to save the day… 😉
It could be maybe…. if he would show himself to the mayor. And that is something Dwaas has been taught to fear.
