Day 365 - And so it ends...
After 730 days of being followed around by me and my camera I guess the minifigs inhabiting my home had enough of me. They were whispering all day, and suddenly fell quiet when I approached with my camera. I tried to get a really good photo... but they seemed to avoid me. When I walked into the cellar however I found them all; Dwaas, Barry, Darryl, Willy, The Dark family, the wanderer, Amida, Strabo, Cool Chef, Steve the Bookbunny, Crappy real estate agent, Francis etc... etc. Looks like the main cast of Foolish Lego where planning a little get together for new years eve, and I was not invited with my camera. I even saw a little bus around the corner, so I guess they are celebrating outside of the house by now.
I decided to make I quick photo of them getting together and decided to leave them to their own. After 730 consecutive days they deserved a little vacation. :) One final photo...
And so it ends; 730 days of daily Lego photography... I had so much fun, and met so many nice new people. I learned a lot about photography and our house has filled up with Lego (at least from the perspective of my wife ;) ). Thank you all for your support and countless remarks by mail, twitter, the comments and in real life. It kept me going on days that I lost inspiration.
Now the 730-project ends, I need a rest from the daily commitment. Last year I tried to stop, but I just kept going. This year this wont be so. Within a week I need to go away for two weeks for my work and I wont be bringing my Lego. After that I will resume making photo's but not on a daily basis. I want to take my time getting the photo just right this time. I am still looking for a new project... I will find it. Another 365... maybe after a break :)
So again THANK YOU ALL for you continuing support of Foolish Lego And don't stop checking the site because new photo's will still be made and published.

Day 363 - Eternal love
This morning I went into my backyard again, it finally snowed over here so I went out to enjoy this beautiful white transformation. I ran into the Dark family.
The past two years we saw them they were always angry and / or screaming at each other... but they always seem to overcome their differences. I guess their love is really eternal. :)

Day 362 - New species
It's finally getting colder over here, and when it gets colder it really gets a LOT colder. This morning when I was in my backyard I suddenly noticed a new species of minifigs. All though I think I once saw them in my fridge. Now it seems it is cold enough for them to invade my backyard for the winter (at least for one of them, I haven't seen any others... yet(i) )

Day 361 - New and old...
The new meets the old.... Everybody should know Dwaas by now (and if not; welcome to Foolish Lego :) ). The one on the right is 'Baby'. Yes you read that right, his name is 'Baby'. The way he got his name is a long story.
This is the Minifigure from my youth. As a little kid I carried him around everywhere (as you can see). I was heartbroken when I thought I lost him once. He played a role in all the Lego play-situations, he was always the hero, superman, astronaut (hence the helmet (with the crack in the middle like Lego-Benny had), inventor, etc.. First he had the helmet, later on the hair came. It is instantly recognizable by the light spot on the side. I still use it in the comic as the hair of Barry.
He originated from a book I got when I was six years old, the "6000 Lego ideas book". I used the sticker in there, which was red with white stripes, when it faded beyond recognition I took a marker and made myself a new white sticker with red stripes, when that one faded too... I left it.
Since I was six, he's always been around, even in the dark ages. These days he has a special place where I keep him, safe from loosing him. This is the story of Baby in a very, very small nutt-shell.
Dwaas comes from a completely different place. There is story behind him, his appearance and his name too... a story that makes Dwaas older than he really is... but that's for another time.

Day 360 - Live and breathe words
Steve the bookbunny got a lot of books for Christmas. Now is the time to withdraw from the hustle and live and breathe the words written in them...
